Samir Nasri has echoed the words of Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Luís Enrique in stating that Kylian Mbappé (25) is “the best player in the world.”

Mbappé’s time at Paris Saint-Germain may be coming to an end, but he certainly showcased his commitment to the cause against Real Sociedad on Tuesday night, netting a brace that secured PSG’s qualification for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The France captain has now scored an incredible 11 out of Les Parisiens’ last 15 goals in the knockout stages of the European competition.

His performance against the La Liga side has drawn heavy praise, not just from his manager and president at PSG, but also from pundits. “For me, Kylian is the best player in the world,” said Al-Khelaifi, who reportedly felt “betrayed” by Mbappé’s decision to leave PSG upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.

“I’m not discovering him today; he’s the best player in the world. He will score 50 goals and register 25 assists with whichever coach in whichever team,” added Luís Enrique, who reportedly had “constructive” face-to-face talks with the France captain after his controversial substitution against AS Monaco just days earlier.

Speaking on Canal Plus post-match debrief of PSG’s 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad, which saw them progress 4-1 on aggregate, former Manchester City and Arsenal midfielder Nasri was also full of praise for his compatriot.

“For me, he is the best player in the world. He’s the only player where when he gets on the ball, something can happen,” said the former Les Bleus midfielder.
