Former Liverpool player Paul Stewart has suggested that Mo Salah could leave the club this summer for one of Real Madrid or Barcelona with Jadon Sancho potentially coming in to replace him.

The Reds have seen speculation over Salah for a long time and that is down to the fact he has been consistently strong in front of goal.

Despite all the missed chances this season across the board from the Reds, Salah has still had a good year and will be looking to finish the campaign with a few more goals yet.

However, Stewart is of the opinion that he is going to move on this summer and the Reds could replace him with Jadon Sancho.

Speaking in an interview with This Is Futbol, he said:

“It’s going to be hard to replace Salah and there’s something that just makes me think he’s going to leave, and I know there are a lot of people talking about Real Madrid or Barcelona being two of the clubs he could go to.

“I think Sancho would be somebody that could come in and do a good job for Liverpool and I think he would be a good signing.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Such a transfer development that saw Salah leave and Sancho arrive would be massive in any window, let alone one after a year or so of pandemic and financial strife.

It’s hard to see such moves happening in all truth, but, of course, if Salah did leave it would be for big money and Sancho could then become attainable.

However, there seems no intention really from the Reds or the player for an exit to happen this summer.
