Manchester United have announced that they have agreed a deal with Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo in one of most stunning transfers of all time.
The Portugal international left the club in 2008 to join Real Madrid, before moving to Italy and Juventus three years ago.
For a number of days, it looked like the Portuguese international would be moving to Manchester City after he made it clear to Juventus he wanted to leave the club.
However, following reports of his former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, and his former team-mate, Rio Ferdinand, intervening, that move did come to fruition and he’s now set to return at Old Trafford, signing a two-year deal for a reported fee of £25 million.
“Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” read a club statement.
In his first spell at the club, he scored 118 goals in all competitions and won nine trophies, including three Premier League titles and a Champions League crown.
