Youssoufa Moukoko (19) endured a difficult campaign at Borussia Dortmund last time out, before joining OGC Nice on a loan deal for the upcoming campaign. The Germany international, heralded as the next big thing, had been dogged by injury issues but has begun life brightly at the Allianz Riviera.
Culpable of a big miss in the Derby de la Méditerranée against Olympique de Marseille last weekend, Moukoko was given the nod to start his first home game, at the Allianz Riviera against AS Saint-Étienne on Friday. He seized the opportunity with both hands, netting his first goals for his new club and significantly boosting his confidence. The Borussia Dortmund loanee netted twice in the 8-0 victory over Les Verts.
He has quickly impressed Le Gym’s manager Franck Haise. “He is a player that is attracted to the goal and that matters,” he said in a post-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News.
