“He’s a very good player” – Thomas Tuchel responds to Chelsea’s Ousmane Dembele links
the Chelsea News
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been speaking to the press this lunchtime ahead of another big Premier league game at the weekend.
Tuchel will know how important this game against Tottenham has now become due to his side only managing a draw against Brighton this week and Spurs getting three points and breathing heavily down the necks of their London rivals now.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with wanting to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele in recent days, a player that Tuchel worked with and enjoyed working with during his time as Dortmund manager.
Of course there were questions on these links to Tuchel today and The Blues boss gave his reactions, via Si & Dan Talk Chelsea.
He was obviously refraining from saying too much on the subject, pointing out the fact that he would not want another manager to be speaking about one of his players, but he didn’t exactly deny he would be interested in signing him either…
“He’s a very good player in his top level and I am very fortunate to have trained him at my time in Dortmund it was only one year but should have been longer but he decided to leave,” Tuchel said.
“We aren’t in closest contact but we met here and there for his national team duties in Paris and we exchange some messages. He is in a situation I have no idea why or what the situation is in detail. It’s better not to talk because I know how I feel about it when it is my players.”
