Newcastle 2 Chelsea 0 – Sunday 11 May 12pm

The photo that Newcastle United fans had all really really wanted to see on Sunday.

OneFootball Videos

United taking the lead inside two minutes thanks to a great team move which was finished off by Sandro Tonali.

VAR then saved the on the pitch referee by sending him to the screen at the side of the pitch after he had somehow gave Jackson only a yellow for his forearm smash into Botman’s face Chelsea down to ten men with 35 minutes gone.

Newcastle looked set to add a few more but Chelsea managed to get to half-time only one down.

After the break a nervy affair as United didn’t look after the ball well enough whilst Chelsea did.

A brilliant Bruno finish in the final minute of normal time meant we could all at last enjoy the five minutes of added on time at a sunny St James’ Park!

A winning snapshot post-match.

Another photo =  The twenty seventh one of this season.

The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.

(It is actually the twenty ninth victory of the season for United but for whatever reasons, no winning photo after the win over AFC Wimbledon. Then at the Emirates, I think for sure that no post-match dressing room photo was done due to the fact the Arsenal semi-final tie was only at halfway.)

It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain other clubs and journalists.

‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League/Champions League… etc etc’

I absolutely love it.

Two more Premier League games to go, so hopefully one or two more of these photos to come this season.
