After a lot of speculations, negotiations and crossing hurdles, Barcelona, Real Betis, and Palmeiras have all reached an agreement for the transfer of Vitor Roque, confirms Fabrizio Romano.

Roque, who turned 20 years old today, joined Barça in January last year but struggled to adapt to the club and ended up signing for Real Betis on loan last summer.

While he did enjoy some prominence at the Andalusian outfit, Roque’s minutes were affected recently and Palmeiras came in trying to sign him in the ongoing transfer window in Brazil, which closes today.

An agreement was reached between Barça and Palmeiras for €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons for 80% of his rights. However, Real Betis’ approval took some time as they still had to agree to break the loan agreement.

Agreement reached

On Thursday, Barcelona and Real Betis also reached an agreement to terminate their loan deal for Roque, allowing him to travel to Brazil and complete the transfer to Palmeiras.

As compensation, Los Verdiblancos will get an extra 30% share of economic rights on Ez Abde, having previously shared 50% with Barcelona.

With everything in place, Romano has given the ‘Here we go’ seal for the transfer, with Tigrinho set to sign a five-year contract with Palmeiras.

With the transfer window in Brazil set to close later tonight, the deal should be completed soon and an official announcement is unlikely to be far away.

Roque’s exit gives Barça some much-needed fair play margin to secure the contract renewals of Inigo Martinez and Robert Lewandowski while leaving some room for Lamine Yamal’s extension as well.
