Ahead of Canada’s vital clash against Croatia tomorrow evening within match-week 2 of the 2022 World Cup, Canada boss John Herdman heavily praised the box-to-box midfielder Stephen Eustaquio.
Within the ed and white maple leaf’s opening match against Belgium, the 24 year-old midfielder maintained his fine run of form that he has attained with Porto, featuring as the main catalyst as he constructed a fine string of offensive plays through his impeccable flair and creativity within the central park.
As it stands, Canada currently sit at the bottom of the pack of Group F with zero points. A victory over the Croats is significant in order to keep their aspirations of qualifying to the next stage of the tournament alive.
While speaking to the press, as relayed by TSN, the Canadian boss provided his thoughts on Eustaquio as a player for the Canadian National team:
“I haven’t met anyone with this level attention to detail everything he’s earned he worked for the preparation and physical training. Seeing him rise from the third division to now Porto and to be able to work with him is an absolute blessing. He’s been killing it in the Champions League and then I think in three weeks time I have to coach him and hopes he maintains the same level and he proves it every time.”
