Heracles Almelo have added a new goalkeeper to the ranks with Leco Zeevalkink. The 19-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract until the summer of 2027 and joins from amateur club NEO Borne.
Zeevalkink has already trained with the FC Twente/Heracles Academy for the last two seasons. All the while, he was between the sticks for the NEO Borne, where he made his debut in the first team at the age of 16.
Now, his step-up to the professional game becomes more concrete. Speaking to the Heracles media team, the teenage stopper said:
“The combination of training at the Academy and playing in the first division at NEO was perfect for me. As a youth goalkeeper, I completed the NEO training course. The step to the Academy was a big one, but thanks to these training sessions, I was able to make great strides in my development.”
Technical Director Nico-Jan Hoogma said of the signing, “Leco is a talented goalkeeper from the region and has made a good impression during the training sessions. He also recently played in a practice match for the reserves. We have every confidence that Leco can develop further as a goalkeeper with us.”
