Heracles Almelo have signed 25-year-old Walid Ould-Chikh on loan from Eintracht Braunschweig. Ould-Chikh previously worked with Bas Sibum at Roda JC Kerkrade.
Ould-Chikh’s first stint with Sibum came when he was on loan at Roda from FC Volendam. Sibum will be hoping that Ould-Chikh will help replicate the form from that season. Roda were close to promotion to the Eredivisie, but missed out in the final stages of the campaign. Ould-Chikh played a key role in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie with 12 goals and eight assists.
Heracles could use some quality. Sibum’s team started the season with four defeats and only one goal. They have conceded 14 goals in matches against FC Utrecht, NEC, Ajax, and FC Groningen.
Heracles were looking for an extra creative player after Jeff Reine-Adélaïde’s injury. The Frenchman has been sidelined for months with a knee injury. Ould-Chikh had little prospect of success at Braunschweig. Last season, he struggled with a nasty back injury in Germany that sidelined him for a long time.
