Henrikh Mkhitaryan has joined Inter on a free transfer having left Roma at the end of his contract.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United man has penned a two-year contract at San Siro, becoming the Nerazzurri's fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Andre Onana, Kristjan Asllani and Romelu Lukaku.

Mkhitaryan enjoyed a successful spell in the Italian capital after leaving the Premier League, culminating in winning the inaugural Europa Conference League at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Roma had tried to negotiate a new deal with one of their star performers in recent years but failed to agree terms, and he has now joined their Serie A rivals Inter after his contract expired at the end of June.

The Armenian made 14 goal contributions last term, although his most productive season came in 2020/21 where he scored 15 times and laid on 13 more.

Now 33, it's likely the versatile Mkhitaryan will provide depth in the midfield and forward areas as Inter look to reclaim their Serie A crown from city rivals Milan. The player has been deployed across the frontline during his time in Italy so far.
