When things are going well, then even a 19-year-old making his debut in a critical position doesn't pose any additional problem for the team. After some visible nerves just after coming on as a half-time substitute, Hendry Blank soon looked like he'd been there all his life.

"It's a wonderful story for Hendry Blank, who was making his Bundesliga debut,'' said Edin Terzic, adding: "There are two reasons why Hendry is with us: because he's good, and because he's earned it. He did an extraordinarily good job."

60 of the 61 passes made by the 19-year-old arrived safely at the feet of teammates. Blank was delighted: "Now the moment has come that I've been working towards for so long. I did a solid job, I'm happy with my first game. After playing the first couple of passes I got myself up to speed and did my best to not let the nerves show." But the difference between playing at 3. Liga or UEFA Youth League level was noticeable: "Everything goes so much faster, you have to pay attention to every little detail."

Saturday evening was a long one, Hendry Blank revealed on BVB TV. But not because he was "on tour": "When I got home, I was still buzzing. My family congratulated me. I couldn't get to sleep." (br)
