Crystal Palace've lifted their first ever FA Community Shield after dramatic 3 - 2 penalty shootout victory over Liverpool with goalkeeper Dean Henderson producing masterclass between the posts.

After thrilling 2 - 2 draw in regular time Henderson saved spot kicks from Alexis Mac Allister & Harvey Elliott while Mohamed Salah sent his effort over the bar.

This wasn't the 1st time Henderson'd haunted Egyptian stars. In last season’s FA cup final, he famously saved penalty from Omar Marmoush .. becoming the 1st keeper to stop spot kick in an FA cup final (excluding shootouts) since Petr Cech in 2010.

Against Liverpool, Henderson appeared to be one step ahead of every taker. Cameras caught him consulting water bottle marked with each Reds player’s preferred shooting angles .. a trick that also worked against Marmoush.

The 28 year old began his career at Man United but after multiple loan spells, left in 2023 to become Crystal Palace’s undisputed first choice goalkeeper.

He's since proven himself as one of the PL's most reliable shot stoppers.
