Darko Lazović’s intended move to Olympique de Marseille has hit a stalemate, with Hellas Verona failing to reach an agreement with the Ligue 1 club over the signing of Kevin Strootman.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, citing tggialloblu.it, reports that Hellas Verona blocked Lazović’s transfer when the player was ready to leave Italy for France with a private jet made available by the French club.

It is understood that Verona took the decision to halt the move as a result of failing to find an agreement with the French side for the signing of Kevin Strootman, who has also been linked with a summer transfer to the Gialloblu.

As reported previously, Lazović was about to join Les Phocéens on a three-year deal for a transfer fee of around €4-€5 million. There was also a mention of Strootman being part of the exchange.
