Younes Taha may be on the verge of a loan move to sc Heerenveen. The Frisians are seriously considering the 22-year-old midfielder from FC Twente, as per Tubantia.
While it is said that Taha is keen on a breakthrough in Enschede, he also realises that playing time is crucial and a loan away to a fellow Eredivisie club could be ideal.
After two seasons, Taha has not yet succeeded in becoming a regular at Twente. Last season, he was sidelined for six months with a broken leg. As a result, his contribution remained limited, although he showed his potential again in the play-offs against NEC Nijmegen with a great goal.
Heerenveen see Taha as an interesting reinforcement for the coming season. “Taha still wants to succeed at FC Twente”, writes club specialist Leon ten Voorde. “But he also realises that he has to get minutes in the Eredivisie this season.”
Taha himself recently told Voetbal International that he would prefer to stay. “I don’t want to go anywhere, but show everyone here what I can do. One hundred per cent. I am convinced of my qualities, now I have to show them to others. I want to do that at FC Twente.”
Taha is contracted to FC Twente until the summer of 2027. Next season seems to be crucial in his development.
