Former Red Paul Stewart believes that Liverpool should consider signing Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.

It has been reported that Neves could be available for £35 million this summer.

Stewart said that Neves would be a good signing for the aforementioned price.

“I think Neves has proved himself in the Premier League for me,” Stewart told Football FanCast.

“So I think he’d be a really good signing at that price because for a player of his quality it’s nothing.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We completely agree with Stewart’s comments. Neves is a solid player.

The midfielder scored five goals and registered two assists in 40 appearances for Wolves last season. Neves also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.80 across the 2020-21 campaign.

Neves is only 24 years of age. Therefore, his career is far from finished. It could be argued that Neves is just entering the prime of his career.

Neves has a current market value of €45 million. Therefore, if Liverpool could sign Neves for £35 million, they would be saving some money.

However, no journalist close to the club has suggested that Liverpool will make a move for Neves this summer.

We hope that changes. Neves is a player that we like.
