Arsenal defender Héctor Bellerín has unveiled the trailer for his Unseen Journey documentary, centred around his life story and recovery from long-term injury.
Bellerín ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in January 2019 and was later ruled out for nine months after undergoing surgery.
The nine-part series offers exclusive footage of his journey through rehabilitation, in addition to highlighting mental struggles athletes face when overcoming injury.
“When we started, I wanted to give a better insight into the ups and downs of professional sport, giving an honest reflection of what athletes face when going through injury rehabilitation and recovery.
“Unseen Journey shows some of the toughest moment of my life, both physically and mentally,” the 25-year-old stated.
“But I can look back now and be grateful to everyone that helped me through the whole process, a process which has developed me as a professional and as a person.
“I really hope the The Unseen Journey will be able to inspire others and show that with the right mindset and team around you, anything is possible.”
There are also appearances from Rob Holding, Jon Toral and Dr Ramon Cugat – widely considered to be one of the top doctors in football – included.
All nine episodes will be available to watch on his YouTube channel from January 13.
