The SFA have confirmed the refereeing appointment for Celtic’s next match with experienced referee John Beaton being handed the whistle. The game away to Hearts on Wednesday will prove to be a tough encounter and now, Ange Postecoglou’s side will be hoping to rectify the early season loss at Tyencastle.

Beaton will referee the game between the Jambos and the Hoops, having officiated the 3-2 Cup win against Robbie Neilson’s side back in August. He is assisted by David Roome and Dougie Potter, as well as Fourth Official Alan Muir.

The game will kick off at 7:45pm with Celtic looking to navigate the tricky away tie with a few noticeable absentees – Callum McGregor, Kyogo and Tom Rogic missing. The Celts may also be without Guchi and Liel Abada, who were also forced from the field due to injuries picked up in the win over Alloa. Don Robertson missed a red card offence on Guchi, which could’ve resulted in serious damage. There were a few other decisions that were missed as Scottish football cries out for the introduction of VAR.
