Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 (SWPL) club Heart of Midlothian have completed the signing of Lewes forward Georgia Timms according to reports on The Jambos’ official website.

The 24-year-old attacker moves north of the border after spending the last two seasons in the Barclays Women’s Championship with Lewes. Timms made 35 appearances for The Rookettes in the second tier, scoring three goals.

With Timms out of contract at The Dripping Pan at the end of this month, the player will sign for new club Hearts on a free transfer. Timms joins a Hearts side which finished in eighth position on their Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 (SWPL) debut in 2021/2022. Eva Old’s side collected 20 points from their 27 league games.

Hearts are moving towards professional status in the long term with the club having announced the news in March that they are stepping up to semi-professional. New signing Timms will have the benefit of using the club’s top class training facility at Oriam while she could walk out on the hallowed turf at Tynecastle next season should the women’s team have the opportunity to play matches there.

Timms joins Zoë Cross in leaving Lewes so far this summer. Cross announced her retirement from the game after the final match of the season.
