‘He will realise later’ – Barcelona chief Laporta speaks out on Marc Guiu’s Chelsea switch | OneFootball

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has on Thursday spoken out over the decision of Marc Guiu to depart the club.

Frontman Guiu of course sealed a permanent exit from Catalunya’s capital this past summer.

The move, to Premier League giants Chelsea, at the time came as a major surprise, with Guiu having been considered by many in Barcelona to be the club’s first-team striker of the future.

The Spaniard has since managed just a solitary Premier League appearance for Chelsea, a 25-minute cameo against Manchester City back in August.

Speaking during an appearance on ‘Barca One‘ on Thursday, the aforementioned Joan Laporta, in turn, was asked for his take on Guiu’s decision to move on.

And Barcelona’s president did not hesitate in revealing his opinion that, when all is said and done, the young attacker ‘will realise’ what he left behind at the Camp Nou:

“Marc Guiu? Listen, any player who wants to leave Barça, the doors are open for him. There’s no other place like Barça and they will realise it later.”
