After a memorable run with Paris Saint-Germain, center-back Thiago Silva will play in his last game with the club next week in the UEFA Champions League final against FC Bayern Munich. Silva has won every possible domestic title with the club but is still missing a Champions League winners medal in his career resume.

Over the past couple of days, many former PSG players have spoken about their appreciation to Silva’s dedication to the club. Among those lauding Silva is former PSG midfielder Valdo. In speaking to Le Parisien, he talked about his hope that Silva can end his PSG career as a Champions League winner.

“He will go down in the club’s history forever,” Valdo said. “The fact that he was only able to extend his contract for this Champions League final phase is difficult for him. If anyone deserves to win on Sunday, it’s him. He’s been through some tough times in Paris, he’s been criticized but he’s always been the same. I dream of seeing him brandishing the Champions League.”

If Silva is able to help defeat Bayern and lift up the prestigious Champions League trophy, it would certainly be a moment that PSG fans will remember for a long time.
