Manchester United are ready to offload Marcus Rashford as the transfer window nears its dramatic close.
Manager Ruben Amorim has blamed Rashford for not showing full commitment in training.
He has included the 27-year-old only once in the last 12 matchday squads.
He was also absent from the 21-man squad that travelled to Romania for tonight’s Europa League clash.
Rashford went public with his desire to leave the club last month.
Man United legend Wayne Rooney has revealed the shocking advice he gave to the forward.
He said on the Stick to Football podcast: “I was surprised when this started over two years ago, but now I’m not.
“I’ve spoken to Marcus a couple of times, and I’ve given him my thoughts and feelings that he needs to leave the football club.
“Because whatever is going on his life and at Manchester United, he’s not the same. For him to have a fresh start, he needs to leave the club.
“The fact that your manager is coming out and saying that you’re not training right is crazy.”
Rashford was expected to find a new club, yet he remains at United with less than a week left in the transfer window.
The England international also faced difficult moments under former head coach Erik ten Hag.
Discipline issues have plagued the forward, and he needs a fresh start to revive his career.
After breaking through United’s Academy, he was destined for greatness but struggled with consistency and failed to become the club’s true talisman.
Amorim has the support of United fans, as his goal is to eliminate the player power that has hindered the club for years.
Rashford is holding out for a move to Barcelona, but the La Liga giants must first resolve their financial issues.
Borussia Dortmund, AS Monaco and Tottenham Hotspur are also potential destinations for the forward.
