Preston North End have further bolstered their squad for the foreseeable future by tying Patrick Bauer down to a new contract.
The 29-year-old has penned a fresh deal until the summer of 2024, with his previous one set to expire this coming summer.
Along with fellow defender Andrew Hughes, who signed a new contract himself earlier in the month, Bauer one one of the few players at Deepdale who the club were trying to tie down ahead of the transfer window.

The German, who is known by the North End faithful as the ‘BFG’, has decided to remain in Lancashire for the next few years though, having made the move up in 2019 after he signed from Charlton Athletic on a free transfer, not long after he scored the winning goal for the Addicks in the League One play-off final against Sunderland.
Bauer was a regular for PNE in his first season under Alex Neil’s management, playing 41 times but a serious achilles injury meant he missed the majority of the 2020-21 campaign.
His league return to action came against Peterborough in August though and since then Bauer hasn’t looked back, playing in all but three Championship matches and scoring three goals in the process.
This is the most important contract extension since DJ. He is so important to us. Great News! #pnefc–
