“He is going to come back” – One loan star who Chelsea fans know is making first team step up next season | OneFootball

Conor Gallagher has had a brilliant career trajectory.

From academy prospect (not even one of the most hyped) to a humble loan at the bottom of the Championship, over the course of 4 temporary spells at other clubs he pushed his way from the relegation zone in the second tier up to the top half of the Premier League.

There is no natural next step for him elsewhere in the league, and we’re glad to hear that it sounds like his next campaign will be at Stamford Bridge.

Jacob Steinberg, the Guardian’s Chelsea correspondent, has been on Simon Phillips podcast, and he said the following:

“Conor Gallagher is gonna come back [this summer]. Tuchel really likes im and he wants him to be part of Chelsea’s first team squad next season.”

The fact that this was ever in doubt, and the fact that we’re chuffed to hear he will be back, shows how bad things have been for Chelsea fans in the last ten years watching their best talents mismanged.

Now, finally, it feels like we’ve turned a corner, and we will see Conor tearing it up in our own team, for once.
