Back in the summer of 2017, Liverpool signed Andy Robertson from Hull City for a transfer fee of €9 million.
Robertson has proved to be a superb signing for the Reds. The Scot has won four major trophies in 173 appearances for Liverpool.
Robertson is a defender by trade. Despite that being the case, the 27-year-old is a very good player going forward. Robertson has scored five goals and registered 35 assists for Liverpool.
Before Robertson made the move to Anfield, he played under Marco Silva at Hull City. The former Hull City manager was recently asked about his former player.
Silva suggested that Robertson’s work ethic is the reason why the left-back has been successful at Anfield.
Silva told The Guardian the following: “He had a unique skill: he enjoyed working really hard.”
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
It is common knowledge that talent only gets a footballer so far. At Anfield Watch, we love watching Robertson play football.
The energy he brings to a game of football is infectious.
Robertson’s current contract expires in the summer of 2024. Therefore, we will be able to sit back and watch Robertson represent the Reds for at least a few more years.
