Nicolas Jackson felt everything was “broken” with Chelsea from a sporting point of view according to Fabrizio Romano.
Jackson eventually secured a deadline day move to Bayern Munich, with the whole situation far from straight forward.
The 24-year-old had fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea following the arrival of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and wanted to seek a new challenge away from Stamford Bridge.
Jackson had interest from the likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa, but neither Premier League side ended up making an offer.
Bayern emerged as the favourites for his signature, but they only wanted to do a loan with an option rather than obligation.
Jackson eventually completed his move to Bayern on deadline day.
Chelsea eventually agreed to this, but Liam Delap got injured against Fulham, and the Blues made the decision to cancel the loan, and ordered Jackson to return to London despite just landing in Munich.
Jackson made it clear he didn’t want to play for Chelsea again, and remained in Munich hoping to find a resolution.
An agreement was eventually found, with there now an obligation to buy based on a certain amount of appearances, and Romano has provided an update.
“After Delap’s injury, Chelsea told Bayern and the agents of Jackson to stop every single conversation because they wanted the player back,” he told his YouTube channel.
“But Jackson’s immediate reaction was, I don’t want to play for Chelsea anymore, with maximum respect from Jackson, because he maintains a good relationship with Chelsea, but he feels that everything was broken between them on a sporting point of view.”
With Jackson joining Bayern Munich, Chelsea instead opted to recall Marc Guiu from Sunderland, despite the teenager only making the switch earlier this summer.
