Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his verdict on Luis Diaz's performance against Fulham at Craven Cottage last Saturday.

The winger was lively in patches for the Reds against the Cottagers. But, Diaz was certainly not at his best last weekend.

The 25-year-old averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.32 for his 78-minute performance against Fulham.

Klopp had the following to say about Diaz's display.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told the club's official website the following: “Lucho is a great player, a fantastic player, but today he had a massive chance, super chance. Look, for offensive players on a day like this, it's really not easy because they defend massively from how they get set up.

“How the deliveries are – and we didn’t play well enough to bring them in the right moments. But when we were there, then you can see immediately how good Lucho is, how one-one, crossbar or post, I don’t know exactly, but close.

“Yeah, brilliant player but he can play better than today – like all the South Americans.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Diaz has been exceptional for Liverpool since joining the club back in January. The winger has scored six goals and registered five assists in 28 appearances for the Reds' first-team.

So, we are confident that Diaz will bounce back from his performance against Fulham.

The exciting thing about the Colombia international is that he is only 25 years of age. Diaz still has plenty of room left for improvement.

Who knows how good the forward could be in the years to come. Only time will tell if he is to reach another level.
