Oliver Glasner is readying his troops for the challenges of the new year and aiming for maximum points against Dortmund, despite having to deal with a number of absences.

Oliver Glasner on…

...the personnel situation: “Things are a bit tricky on the personnel front. We’ve got two muscular injuries from the first half of the season with Hauge and Lenz. Grahl, Paciencia and Jakic are fit again. Da Costa and Lindström have caught COVID. Jakic will return to full training today. @gpaciencia9 was back on Tuesday and will have had almost a week of training under his belt. Ache has looked lively and Lammers is also an option.”

...preparations for the match against Dortmund: “In around nine days of training we’ve never had full numbers, but we’ve got through a good programme. The main focus has been on our play. Like every match, we want to win against Dortmund. 2021 is over, we can’t wallow in past successes but instead have to prove ourselves again. We need to be very concentrated in our defending and alert when we win the ball, but also be brave in our attacking play. Compactness is important against BVB.”

...opponents Borussia Dortmund: “In our analysis we’ve looked at BVB, who possess a lot of quality, pace, power and flair, especially in attack. A lot of Dortmund’s attacking players are fit again. They’re a fantastic side.”

...the absence of spectators: “We’re obviously sad but we can’t change it. However, the team have shown that they can win in both empty and full stadiums. During the week, one of the players commented to me that I still haven’t experienced a full Deutsche Bank Park as Eintracht coach. I hope that changes soon.”

...his objectives: “The players have recovered well mentally. Now it's up to us to build up the mood we had before Christmas, when we were hungry, dynamic and united. That’s our big aim for this week.”
