Jose Mourinho delivers advice to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

As reported by the Express, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has warned his Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp that he is wasting his time complaining over the hectic schedule in English football.

Liverpool have seen a number of players get injured since the start of the season. The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and more recently, Naby Keita, have been sidelined with injuries.

And while the Reds are still doing fairly well in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp was unhappy with how packed the schedule is for this season. The Liverpool boss also took a shot at the broadcasters for there being no changes to the schedule. (h/t Express)

“It’s about all the players, it’s about the England players, it’s about all the players who will play the European Championship next summer – if you (Sky) don’t start talking to BT, we’re done. All the top six are the same, but I know you (the broadcasters) don’t care, and that’s the problem.”

Asked to comment on Klopp’s statements, Mourinho insisted that Klopp was fighting a losing battle as his complaints are going to be overlooked. (h/t Express)

“Klopp arrived by 2015. I arrived in 2004 so what he knows from 2015, I know since 2004. And nothing changes. We have to adapt to it and that’s the way it is.”

The fixture schedule hasn’t been kind on the players. More so for players in the teams who are playing European football this season.

Tottenham, too, are suffering the brunt of the scheduling, having had to face Ludogorets on Thursday in the Europa League before having to face Chelsea in an important derby game on Saturday. Problems have only been worsened by the removal of the five-sub rule.

With the schedule set to get even tighter once the festive period arrives, players will be in for a difficult test.
