There were mixed fortunes for Germany’s top biggest clubs in Europe this past midweek.

But Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were back to winning ways domestically on Saturday.

Here’s what happened.

Bayern in seventh heaven

Scorers: Choupo-Moting 4′, Kane 12′ (PEN) 54′ 90′, De Ligt 29′, Sané 39′, Tel 82′

Harry Kane once again spearheaded the Bayern attack as Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting played in support.

And it took just four minutes for the Bavarian side to take the leas as Coman laid in Choupo-Moting, who tapped in from close range.

Soon Bayern had doubled their advantage as Kane swept in at the far post to net his fifth of the campaign so far.

Just before the half hour mark Bayern grabbed their third as Mathijs de Ligt rose highest from a corner and headed home.

A textbook first half from the home side was rounded off late on as Sané found the back of the net with a neat finish after a great pass from Kane.

Into the second half and Kane got his second early on as he superbly dispatched from the penalty spot.

The rout continued as Kane drew in two defenders, played the ball into Mathys Tel who curled a sixth into the far corner.

But Kane rounded off the win with his first ever hat-trick for the club, slotting in a seventh goal on a perfect afternoon.

Reus to the rescue

Scorers: Malen 69′

English youngster Jamie Bynoe-Gittens started in attack as Niclas Fullkrug started for the first time after his move over the summer.

It was Marco Reus though, who went closest early on as his free kick was saved brilliantly by Koen Casteels.

It was otherwise a fairly uneventful first half as Wolfsburg kept the hosts at bay.

After the break the visitors had a gilt-edged chance to open the scoring through Tiago Tomás but the Portuguese winger completely fluffed his lines from inside the area.

And Wolfsburg would pay for that profligacy as Reus got on the end of a Julian Brandt cross and broke the deadlock with a neat flick.
