With a number of Bayern contracts coming to an end within the next 18 months, Hasan Salihamidžić is confident that Bayern will have no problem locking down their top talent.
Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, Javi Martinez, David Alaba, and Thiago Alcantara are some of Bayern’s top stars who have contracts expiring in summer 2021, yet Bayern’s sporting director is remaining very calm on the issue.
“We will certainly have talks, but in the next few weeks we will concentrate on the competitions,” Salihamidžić told reporters.
“It’s important that we are totally focused on the games in the upcoming weeks. That’s where the focus lies.”
When asked whether he’s concerned about other teams poaching some of Bayern’s top players, Salihamidžić pointed to past business dealings to provide assurance to Bayern supporters.
“No. Sure, this can happen with top players, but we have had good experience with concentrating on the competitions first and that’s what we will do.
“But like I said before, we will have talks, the players know about it, and there are no problems.”
Top-of-the-table Bayern have what could end up being one of their most crucial matches of the season on Sunday when they play host to Red Bull Leipzig, who are currently just a single point behind.
