Hasan Salihamidžić: 'Joshua Kimmich is world-class in every position' | OneFootball

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić laid the praise onto Joshua Kimmich after his master-class performance against Schalke in their mid-week DFB Pokal victory.

Kimmich was named Man of the Match after the game’s only goal, completing 95 per cent of his passes, and successfully connecting on 15 of 19 long passes – all from the centre-back position.

Ahead of Sunday’s clash with Augsburg, Salihamidžić labelled Kimmich ‘world-class’ and ‘one of the best in Europe’.

“He simply can do everything. The boy is very, very good. He has developed into a leader in the past years,” he said.

“I talk to him often: when he looks back on the last few years, he has developed into a strong personality, he has improved in every one of his strengths.

“Everywhere you put him, he is world-class. That is how he has to continue — he has realized that he always has to concentrate. He wants to win every game, I like that about him. He’s a total pro.”

Kimmich has appeared 35 times for Bayern this season, featuring in defensive midfield (22 games), right-back (11 games), and centre-back (twice).
