Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has called on the club to “take stock” after losing their unbeaten Bundesliga record to Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
Leon Goretzka gave the Bavarians the lead just before the half-hour mark at the Allianz Arena only for Martin Hinteregger to equalise three minutes later.
Frankfurt winger Filip Kostić then struck seven minutes from time to stun the defending champions and condemn them to their first defeat after seven games.
“It’s annoying, of course. We had a very good run of results,” Salihamidžić said, per the Bayern website.
“Today we’ve slipped up. We had many good chances, but didn’t score enough and our pressing didn’t work well enough. Frankfurt also counter-attacked ruthlessly.
“We have to take stock of the defeat. When the boys come back from their national teams, we’ll prepare ourselves to win the next game.”
Bayern will face a top-of-the-table clash with Bayern Leverkusen in a fortnight’s time.
Both teams are locked on 16 points, with Die Roten staying in first place due to their superior goal difference.
