Harry Redknapp has been talking about Newcastle United.
The former Spurs boss discussing Eddie Howe and his team ahead of this midweek.
Newcastle United hosting at St James’ Park.
A 7.30pm kick-off on Wednesday night.
United set to face Liverpool.
Harry Redknapp talking to BetVictor ahead of Newcastle United playing at home to Liverpool:
“This is a tough spell for Newcastle, and I worry the pressure will begin to mount on Eddie Howe.
“They’ve not really looked like scoring in the last few games, that shouldn’t happen with the quality of players they’ve got.
“It just keeps getting better and better for Liverpool, what a remarkable start it’s been.
“They looked so comfortable against Manchester City and there was only going to be one winner.
“This will still be a big test for them though.
“It’s hard not to think about those classic 4-3’s back in the day but I don’t think we’ll see anything like that here.
“Prediction: Newcastle 0 Liverpool 1
“One to watch –
“He keeps talking about leaving but boy is Mohamed Salah still such a top player.
“His pass for the opener against City was world class and I just think Liverpool must do all they can to keep him around for a while yet.”
I don’t blame Harry Redknapp, or anybody else, for predicting a Liverpool win on Wednesday.
The are clear at the top of the Premier, have won 11 of their 13 Premier League matches and only lost one, whilst this past week they have convincingly defeated Real Madrid and Manchester City.
So why should Newcastle United be any different?
Well, there is no guarantee that Eddie Howe’s side will get something out of this match, however, there is no guarantee either that Newcastle can’t/won’t give Liverpool a good game, then who knows?
Yes, the last two Newcastle matches have been disappointing for a number of reasons, however, people do have a habit of going over the top, very quickly.
This includes some Newcastle United fans as well!
Harry Redknapp says ‘a few games’ Newcastle United haven’t looked like scoring, well three games ago NUFC went to Forest and won 3-1. At the time Forest had lost only once in the Premier League all season and had only conceded three goals in five PL home matches.
As well as saying the last two (not few!) games have been disappointing, you can also present the evidence as in their last five matches, Newcastle have won three, drawn one and lost one, Scoring seven and conceding only four. Amongst the three wins in these last five games, they include beating Arsenal and Chelsea, who are second and third in the table.
No guarantee it will happen BUT no reason why Newcastle United can’t click back into that form they showed in the three wins, only last month!
