He might have been flying high on emotion, but Harry Kane wasn’t getting carried away after scoring a late, late leveller at Chelsea on Sunday.

The striker rose highest to meet Ivan Perisic’s corner in the sixth minute of added time to secure a 2-2 draw in another high-octane Premier League clash at the Bridge.

Speaking to SPURSPLAY pitchside, Harry told us that initially he wasn’t sure where the ball was heading after he connected, but was delighted to get the chance to celebrate with our fans moments later.

“I flicked the corner on and couldn’t see where the ball went, next I saw it nestle into the back of the net,” said Harry. “It was a great feeling to do it in front of the away fans, always special. It’s nice to come away with the draw. I don’t think it was our greatest game, so good to get something out of it... but, for sure, we need to improve going forward if we want to be consistent at the highest level. “

Reflecting on the game, Harry used the word ‘improve’ a lot. “The character has been good, and this shows good passion and determination to go again and get another equaliser,” he added. “At 1-1, emotions were high, I thought we could have controlled things better, we got a bit sloppy in our shape and we were so wide open for their second goal. We need to improve on that.

“As a team, we’re working every day to improve, we’ll watch this one back as a team this week and see what we can get better at but, whenever you score an equaliser in a big game like this at the end, it gives us a nice feeling walking away.

“It’s not time to get carried away, for sure, but we had a terrible record against Chelsea last season, so to come here and get a point... it’s not what we wanted before the game, but as the game wore on, I think we’ll be the happier team, for sure.

“There is still a lot to improve on, we’re working hard, the manager has his ideas and we’re working every week to implement then, He knows we can bet better, we know we can be better and that’s what we’ve got to try to do.”
