Kane, however, only needs to hit the back of the net once to break a tie with Lineker for most goals by an England international in major tournaments.

Other players with admirable goal averages are among the global elite – Neymar (6 in 10, 1.67 average), Karim Benzema (3 in 5, 1.67 average), and Kylian Mbappé (4 in 7, 1.75 average) will be relied on for their potency in front of goal, to lead their respective teams to glory in Qatar.
