Harry Kane will ‘insist’ on a move to Manchester City this summer, as England teammate Jack Grealish edges closer to his switch to the Etihad.

Speculation continues to rumble over Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur, the 28-year-old having expressed his desire to leave towards the end of last season following what was another underwhelming campaign for the north London club.

With no Champions League football on offer once again this season and with the striker still yet to clinch a maiden major honour, it appears he has his heart set on a move elsewhere, despite his close connection with his current club.

While he still has three years left to run on his existing deal, the one-time Leicester City loanee appears desperate to cut short his time with the Lilywhites, amid interest from Pep Guardiola’s side.

Following his run to the Euro 2020 final with England, Kane is due back to training next week and, according to the Telegraph, he will sit down for talks with chairman Daniel Levy where he will ‘insist’ on joining the champions in his quest for silverware.

While Levy is understandably not keen to sell his star asset, it has been reported that he would be willing to do a deal if he were to receive around £150 million, a fee City are reluctant to pay.

City have already lodged a £100 million bid for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, with the expectation being that it will be accepted, although the Midlands club are still hopeful that he will remain at Villa Park having tabled a contract offer of their own.

If Grealish does make the move to Manchester, Kane is seemingly keen to follow his international colleague, with City keen to plug the gap left by the recently departed Sergio Aguero who joined Barcelona on a free transfer earlier this summer.

The Kane situation has been made even more intriguing by the opening weekend clash between City and Spurs, although it has been reported that the 2020/21 Golden Boot winner won’t be lining up for either side, having enjoyed an extended break due to his Euro 2020 commitments.
