Harry Kane breaks 60-year Bundesliga record

Harry Kane’s brace against Eintracht Frankfurt takes the Englishman’s tally up to 35 Bundesliga goals for the season. And with that, the 30-year-old breaks a 60-year record, held by Hamburg’s Uwe Seeler, by becoming the quickest 35 league goals, reaching the milestone in just 31 games.

But it’s been quite the day for Kane. His goals against Eintracht takes the player’s tally to 42 goals across all competitions this season, which is a new personal record. His previous best of 41 goals in a single season was set in the 2017/18 campaign. And what’s more, his two goals on Saturday afternoon means Kane has now scored 400 career goals in senior football for club and country. Quite the feat.

But it doesn’t stop there

Kane is also the first player in history to score or assist against every Bundesliga side that he’s faced in his debut season. And England’s top scorer has also scored against 16 of the 17 different opponents he’s faced in the Bundesliga this season, a joint-record in a single campaign, along with Gerd Müller (66/67, 69/70), Ailton (03/04) and Robert Lewandowski (19/20, 20/21), per Opta.
