Luton Town will be eyeing a spot in the Championship play-offs this evening when they visit Hull City, with the Hatters hoping that they have not lost momentum after what was an impressive performance and result against Blackburn Rovers prior to the international break.

Nathan Jones’ side have picked up 13 points from their first 10 matches of the Championship campaign, in what has been a competitive start to 2022/23.

It is a points tally that has the Hatters in 11th place but being a mere two points from the top-six positions, they will be hoping to take advantage of playing a day early.

After what was a bright start to the campaign for the Tigers, Shota Arveladze is now under severe pressure having lost his last four games.

Whilst we wait and see how this game plays out, here, we take a look at how the Hatters could line up for tomorrow’s clash…

Ethan Horvath was away on international duty over the past week, however, it is likely that he will retain the number one shirt, having arrived back in the UK on Tuesday.

Did Luton win, lose or draw the last time they played at the City Ground?

Win Lose Draw

James Bree is as close to being a guaranteed starter as one could be, fitness permitting, with the 24-year-old continuing to provide a solid attacking and defensive service.

Reece Burke netted a fantastic double against Rovers a week last Saturday, with the impressive defender likely to be handed another start.

Tom Lockyer is likely to play in the middle of a back three, and whilst he had to be patient nearer the start of the campaign, he has been excellent when called upon.

Providing balance, Dan Potts could be deployed once more, with the 28-year-old enjoying a decent enough start to the campaign.

The first real conundrum comes at left-wing-back, with Amari’i Bell featuring for Jamaica during the early hours of Wednesday morning, which could pave the way for Alfie Doughty to start his first league game of the season.

Starting his first game of the campaign against Blackburn, it was a typically strong performance from Henri Lansbury, however, the Hatters could tweak the system ever so slightly.

Subsequently, Allan Campbell and Jordan Clark are the likely candidates for being part of the midfield two, with Luke Freeman likely to be deployed in the number 10 role.

Another issue for Jones to solve ahead of their trip to Hull is who will partner Carlton Morris up top.

Harry Cornick looked excellent next to the Luton talisman in the first half against Coventry City a couple of weeks ago but had to be replaced at halftime through injury.

It appears that he will be fit enough for the clash against the Tigers, however, Cauley Woodrow returned his best match of his Town career thus far against Rovers.
