Luton Town‘s Carlton Morris has paid tribute to Harry Cornick, after his fellow attacker left the Hatters to join Championship rivals Bristol City.

Cornick spent the last five-and-a-half years with Luton, having joined the club from Bournemouth back in the summer of 2017.

In total, the attacker would go on to make 235 appearances and score 38 goals in all competitions for the Kenilworth Road club, helping them climb from League Two to the Championship while at the club.

However, his time with the Hatters came to an end on January deadline day, when it was announced that he had joined Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal, that is set to keep him at Ashton Gate until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Morris meanwhile, only joined Luton from Barnsley last summer, but it seems he developed a strong connection with Cornick, during their brief time as teammates at Kenilworth Road.

Posting on his Instagram story in response to confirmation of Cornick’s move to Bristol City, Morris wrote: “Good luck to a true friend and brother Harry Cornick. Love you lots mate, you’ll be missed.”

The Verdict

This does feel like an encouraging insight into Cornick from a Bristol City point of view.

It seems clear that the attacker made a big impact on Morris juding by this post, even though they were only part of the same team for a matter of months.

That does seem to suggest that the 27-year-old will be a hugely positive presence in the dressing room at Ashton Gate, who could certainly help to lift the side going forward.

Add in the fact that he brings with him a decent amount of experience at Championship level, and this does feel like a rather smart piece of business from the Robins.
