With April, three more players on the Los Angeles Galaxy are turning older this month. All three are new faces, too, that weren't with the team.
General Manager Will Kuntz was rather busy this off-season as he signed multiple additions to strengthen the roster and soften the blow of losing stars like Gaston Brugman, Marky Delgado, Jalen Neal and Dejan Joveljic.
The team's Player of the Month (March 2025) is now 34 years old. Ramirez joined the LA Galaxy after Joveljic was traded.
His addition gives Head Coach Greg Vanney a veteran striker that can find the back of the net and often. Ramirez has already scored four times this regular season.
Previously a member of the Columbus Crew, the forward was a part of the 2023 MLS Cup championship team. Ramirez has also made history with the Houston Dynamo, LAFC and his original club, Minnesota United FC.
Ramirez scored Minnesota's first-ever MLS goal in 2017. Eight years later, he has added more to his career totals while playing for his second California-based team.
Zanka joined the LA Galaxy, too. With a pair of midfielders and a defender departing the team following their 2024 MLS Cup victory, there was room for Jorgensen on the roster.
He is a year older than Ramirez and brings international experience with him to the Galaxy. Jorgensen played three different stints with FC Copenhagen overseas.
"Zanka is a five-time Danish League and Danish Cup champion, has experience in the English Premier League and has represented Denmark in over 30 matches including at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Zanka’s quality and experience will be a great addition to our group as we prepare to participate in multiple competitions in the upcoming season."Will Kuntz, GM of the LA Galaxy
The 6'3'' defender recorded his first assist of the season on a pass to Ramirez. That goal was responsible for the 1-1 draw on the road against the Portland Timbers to give the LA Galaxy their first point in the MLS Western Conference standings.
Just like teammate Joseph Paintsil, this third LA Galaxy player is also from Africa. Essengue is from the country of Cameroon.
Within days of Zanka joining the Los Angeles Galaxy, so did Essengue. The 6'1'' defender will turn 22 at the end of this month.
The Cameroon native has yet to take the field for the Galaxy this season. However, he has suited up on the sideline twice (against Minnesota and Real Salt Lake).
All three will potentially be in action for the LA Galaxy's ninth regular season game. The defending MLS Cup champions will be traveling to Texas the weekend of Easter to play on the road against Austin FC.
