Samuel Eto'o turns 43 today. The ex-Nerazzurri forward picked up 102 appearances in two seasons. He was one of the brightest talents in world football. On his birthday, let's relive his Inter career with 5 fun facts.
The 53 goals that he scored in two seasons helped him become an undisputed icon for the Nerazzurri fans and was inducted into the Inter Hall of Fame in 2021. As well as bagging big numbers, he helped bring the squad to 6 trophy wins in two years.
The Cameroonian player was the first in history to win the Treble for two years running with two different squads. In 2009/10 he was the star of the Nerazzurri season, winning the Champions League, the Scudetto, and the Coppa Italia. In the previous year, he won three trophies with Barcelona.
In 2009, a few months after he arrived at Inter, he came fifth in the Ballon d'Or rankings where he also featured for 8 years straight.
In 2010, Inter won the Club World Cup and Eto'o emerged as the best player in the competition. He scored in the final against Mazembe.
He scored 37 goals in the 2010/11 season. This was his highest-scoring year of his whole career. His last two goals were decisive in the Coppa Italia final won 3-2 by Inter. The same season, he scored a hattrick in the Champions League against Werder Breman.
