After suffering a fresh injury at the end of last month, many expected Dani Olmo to miss a host of key matches for Barcelona during the final stretch of the campaign.
However, the playmaker has since made a speedy recovery and is desperate to get back into action ahead of the second leg Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund.
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on Olmo’s fitness, detailing how Hansi Flick plans to integrate the midfielder back into action.
Although the report confirms that Olmo has indeed made a quick recovery, it appears Flick has no desire to rush the playmaker back into action.
This was evidenced by the fact that Olmo was not included in the squad that will take on Leganes.

Although this led many to believe that Olmo will eventually return to action against Dortmund, Flick is exercising caution.
The plan is for Olmo to travel with the team to Dortmund, and depending on the sensations, the coach will make a decision on whether or not to field him.
It is unlikely that Olmo will start against the Black and Yellows. However, he could be given some minutes at the end so as to help the playmaker gain some competitive rhythm.
A more realistic return date for Olmo could be Barcelona’s next La Liga clash against Celta Vigo on April 19.
Olmo could see some game-time in games against Vigo and Mallorca, so that he can get back to full fitness ahead of the Copa Del Rey final against Real Madrid.
