Ferran Torres is currently going through a fine goal-scoring streak at FC Barcelona, a run that has made him the most viable alternative to the Blaugrana’s first-choice attacking trident.
With Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal being in red-hot form all through the season, it has left little space for other attackers to get meaningful game-time.
Despite the adverse situation, Ferran, having only recently recovered from an injury, has been on a fine streak in recent matches.
In fact, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick greatly values Ferran Torres’ mental strength and his ability to embrace his role as a super-sub.
For the first time in his career, whether with Barcelona or his previous teams, Manchester City and Valencia, Ferran has scored in three consecutive matches.
In Dortmund this week, the versatile forward needed just 20 minutes to net a brace, lifting Barça to second place in the UEFA Champions League standings.
This followed goals against Mallorca (1-5) and Real Betis (2-2), the former as a starter and the latter as a substitute.

The 24-year-old is now the fourth-best scorer at Barça this season in terms of minutes-per-goal ratio – averaging a goal every 117 minutes in 14 matches, behind only Lewandowski (one in 78 minutes), Pablo Torre (one in 89 minutes], and Pau Victor (one in 105 minutes).
Beyond his goalscoring, Ferran has also showcased great mental strength in overcoming adversity.
His current streak comes after he spent eight matches sidelined due to a muscular injury. The Valencian forward has also overcome a wave of criticism that threatened to drag him down while also dealing with the aftermath of the flash floods in his native.
Flick has recognised the Spaniard’s mental fortitude and positive attitude, particularly in his role as a super-sub and sees him as an example for the rest of the squad.
In fact, as a reward for his recent performances, there may be a good chance that Ferran could start for Barcelona tomorrow against Leganes.
