Hansi Flick has praised the collective effort after leading Bayern Munich to a second consecutive Bundesliga title.

The Bavarians have now won the last nine German league championships, but the drive to land a tenth will continue without Flick as the manager prepares to depart his boyhood club.

A Robert Lewandowski hat-trick, along with goals from Thomas Müller, Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané, saw Bayern retain the crown in some style against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

“The league is the most genuine of titles. We’re happy that it worked out. Everyone was very happy in the moment,” Flick said, per the official club website.

“Nevertheless, the focus was on the game against Gladbach. You could see that we were ready. That’s the mentality of this team. The game today was worthy of champions.

“Huge congratulations to the team and the staff around it. The whole club creates this atmosphere that you can be successful.

“Bayern Munich has always been my club, I was a big fan when I was young, Gerd Müller was my big idol, Paul Breitner, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

“I have now experienced two fantastic years here. To experience this togetherness on a daily basis is outstanding. These two years have been very valuable for me.”

Bayern will conclude their campaign with games against Freiburg (away) and Augsburg (home).
