The opening days of pre-season training at La Liga giants Barcelona have seen several leading members of the first-team squad reunited with a former teammate at youth level.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Landry Farré as the player to have made the step up.

Landry, for his part, is an 18-year-old defender, capable of operating in either a central role, or at left-back.

The Spanish youth international has long been held in high regard by those behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, considered a potential future first-team star in the making.

And as alluded to above, over recent days, Landry was afforded an insight into the kind of level which he will be required to meet to make the step up to senior level moving forward.

As per a report from MD, the youngster has been drafted into pre-season training by Hansi Flick and his staff across the week to date.

And in the process, Landry has found himself reunited with several ex-teammates, having spent time sharing the pitch with all of Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí and Marc Bernal all the way back at 7-a-side level.

It now remains to be seen if the stopper can follow in the footsteps of his compatriots by carving out a regular role for himself in the Blaugrana first-team.
