FC Barcelona have a very exciting tie awaiting them as they face Borussia Dortmund at their home ground, Signal Iduna Park, tonight in the UEFA Champions League.

A win in this game will pave the Blaugranes’ way for the knock-out rounds of the competition, and thus, this match can prove to be quite important for them. However, beyond this importance, the match will be even more memorable for one Barcelona player in particular.

This player is Ronald Araujo, marking his first inclusion in a squad list under Hansi Flick and the first time this season that he has traveled with his teammates for an away match.

However, it is doubtful whether he will actually step on the pitch for this game, and these doubts were not dispelled even though the journalists asked Hansi Flick about this issue in his press conference ahead of the game against Borussia Dortmund.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Barcelona coach expressed his delight with Araujo’s return, but did not give any clear answer on when he will play:

“I don’t want to talk much about this, but we’re glad that Ronald can be with us. It’s great to have him here already; he’s very strong, and motivates his teammates, and even the coach with his winning attitude. We’ll see how tomorrow’s match unfolds. The plan is for him to play, but I can’t say if it will be tomorrow or over the weekend.”

It is highly unlikely that Flick will risk playing Araujo in such a high-intensity match unless there is an emergency. But one cannot also rule out the Uruguayan getting some minutes at the end of the game, especially if the scoreline is in the Blaugranes’ favor, and the opponents are not fighting too much for a comeback.
