Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is preparing to make several adjustments to his starting lineup for the upcoming match against Osasuna.

As per the latest report from SPORT, the German coach is expected to rotate his squad, particularly in defence and midfield, to manage player workload and ensure key players are fit for crucial fixtures ahead.

Starting with defence

In defence, Jules Kounde is likely to take charge alongside Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, and Gerard Martin. This setup will provide some much-needed rest for Inigo Martinez, who had to put in an exhausting performance against Benfica.

Martinez was instrumental in holding the defensive line together despite the team being a man down and played through the second half while dealing with the effects of a strong challenge from Benfica’s Leandro Barreiro.

Additionally, Cubarsi will be unavailable for the second leg against Benfica due to suspension, making his presence against Osasuna all the more necessary.

On the left flank, Alejandro Balde is unlikely to be risked after suffering a significant knock to his ankle during the clash with Benfica.

With the second-leg fixture at Montjuic in mind, the coaching staff wants to ensure he is fully fit before returning to the pitch.

What about midfield and attack?

In midfield, Marc Casado could be handed an opportunity to showcase his abilities, while Gavi might return to the starting lineup if he recovers in time from the fever that ruled him out of the previous match.

Dani Olmo, who was taken off early against Benfica, is also in contention for a midfield role. Flick will likely use this match to assess his options in the centre of the pitch.

As for the attacking setup, Lamine Yamal seems set to start after being substituted early in the second half against Benfica.

Meanwhile, Ferran Torres could be introduced into the lineup, potentially replacing either Robert Lewandowski or Raphinha.

There is also a possibility that Fermin Lopez could feature, depending on the tactical approach Flick decides to take.

With important matches on the horizon, Flick’s squad rotation will be crucial in maintaining player fitness while ensuring Barcelona remains competitive across all fronts.
