Hansi Flick refused to let standards drop despite watching his Bayern Munich side easily account for Köln on Saturday.
Leon Goretzka was central to the Bavarians’ display at the Allianz Arena, laying on three assists as Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry helped themselves to a brace of goals each after Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting had opened the scoring.
Flick is adamant that meticulous analysis has been key to their recent success, and that they would continue to look for ways to improve.
“We will analyse the game and show it to the team. There were one or two things I didn’t like,” the Bayern boss said.
“But we’ll go from game to game. That approach worked well last year. What comes out in the end is up to us. If we put in the performances and pick up wins, we can finish top of the league.”
Next up for the defending champions is the visit of Borussia Dortmund next Saturday, giving Flick and his backroom team plenty of time to prepare for another crucial Klassiker.
