The recent win over Como was one that Hansi Flick’s side thoroughly deserved. La Blaugrana simply outclassed the Italian team, and they will want to carry this momentum into the official season. One man who was certainly happy with this performance was the Barcelona coach himself.
Flick’s team executed his plan well, and ultimately ended up coming away with the win. The German coach even spoke about various topics after the match, including the team’s performance in this recent clash as well.
As quoted by SPORT, the Barça coach started things off by speaking about the team’s performance and how happy he was with it:
“How we played with the ball, how we created chances… we did really well. We can fine-tune our pressing a bit more, but I’m happy.”

He also addressed summer signings Joan Garcia, Marcus Rashford, and Roony Bardghji, highlighting the impact of their arrival:
“The team’s quality could improve, and that’s exactly what we’re aiming for with these three. They’re understanding what we want from them.”
The Barça coach was also asked about Inigo Martinez, who is set to continue his career at Al-Nassr now, and Flick was full of praise for him, but also stated that his departure should be an opportunity for others to step up:
“I just love Ini. He was absolutely key to what we achieved last season. He got that offer, and he deserved it — he deserved to choose. But it’s also a chance for others to step up.”
As for the possibility of potentially recruiting another defensive player to cover for Martinez’s departure, Flick did not exactly give a clear answer:
“I’ll speak to Deco when he returns, but I don’t think so.”
Flick was also asked to address the controversial topic of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, a player who reportedly had some issues with Barcelona recently, and the German coach gave his verdict on signing a new goalkeeper for the future:
“Marc has been a fantastic goalkeeper for 11 years. It was important to bring in someone for the future, and we’ve done that with Joan — he’s a great signing. Communication is key, and tonight proved it.”
With this win, Barça should feel confident heading into the league season. Their first game will be against RCD Mallorca away from home, but the Catalan giants and Hansi Flick have enough quality and experience to get a positive result.
